Welcome back! As I mentioned in my last post, last week I went to Early Access of the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale and spent over 4 hours trying on brand new fall merchandise. Today I’m sharing a “dressing room diaries” post including many of the items I tried on along with sizing information so you can see how they look on someone other than the models on the Nordstrom website. I thought today would be the perfect day to share this since public access to the Anniversary Sale begins tomorrow, Friday, July 21st!
A few notes – while many items may appear sold out or out of stock, Nordstrom does restock items and will continue to do so. If the items you like are not currently available, definitely check back as many items will be available again when public access opens up. Also, if you’re not sure about sizing, order two sizes! I often do this since sizing can vary quite a bit from brand to brand or even within brands. Nordstrom has FREE shipping and FREE returns so there’s no risk!
Okay, let’s get started! Prior to the start of Early Access, I made an appointment at Nordstrom to have someone get some items ready and help me navigate the sale. I knew it would be crazy on the first day of the sale and there were so many items to see. When I arrived at my scheduled time, I was pleasantly surprised to see all of these items waiting for me in a dressing room!
Amazing, right?! I requested some items I knew I wanted to try on in advance and then my stylist went ahead and added many other items including shoes, accessories and handbags to complete the looks. She also spent the whole four hours pretty much dedicated to me, running items back and forth to the fitting room, changing sizes and helping me decide what worked and what didn’t. This was my first time approaching the sale in this way and I absolutely loved it! I ended up with pieces I really love and I would highly recommend the experience.

Dress | Over The Knee Boots | Earrings (Rose Gold)
I would say this dress is true to size. The small fit but I opted for the medium for better flow and longer length. Size up a half size on the boots if in between sizes. I’m wearing them here in a size 8.
If in between sizes on the sweater, size up. I’m wearing it here in a Large Petite. Jeans are true to size (wearing in size 31). Shoes are true to size. They are a little stiff but the next size up was too big on me (wearing in size 7.5).
This moto jacket is pretty much true to size. I’m usually a Medium in non-petite clothes and the Medium fit best in this jacket.

I would say this cardigan runs big. I sized down and am wearing it here in a Small Petite. The funnel neck top is quite fitted so I sized up and am wearing it here in a Large. (This is a great basic for wearing under sweaters or shirts!) Size up a half size in the booties on the right. I’m wearing them in an 8 and usually wear a size 8 in Vince Camuto shoes.
This top runs big and I had to size down to a Small Petite. Jeans and booties are the same as shown in photos above.
Sweater | Skirt | Over The Knee Boots
The sweater is the same as the orange one shown above. If in between sizes on the skirt, I would size down. I’m normally a 12 Petite in bottoms but I’m wearing this skirt in a 10 Petite. Over the knee boots are the same as shown in photos above.
Plaid Shirt | V-Neck Tee | Jeans | Booties
The website says this shirt runs small but I thought it was pretty true to size. Wearing it in a Medium here. Also wearing a Medium in this tee. Jeans and booties are the same as shown in photos above.
This top definitely runs big so size down. I’m wearing it here in a small but probably need a Small Petite. Jeans and booties are the same as shown in photos above.
Cold Shoulder Tie Sleeve Top | Jeans | Booties
I didn’t love this top on me because of how much arm was exposed so I don’t remember exact size details. I think I tried it on in a Medium Petite. Jeans and booties are the same as in photos above.
This is a great basic tee and true to size. I’m wearing it here in a Medium Petite. Jeans are the same as shown in the photos above.
